Wild Horse Slaughter Ammendment

Several weeks ago, we asked you to contact your Representatives in the U.S. House to urge them to support the Rahall-Whitfield Interior Appropriations Amendment, which will prevent our tax dollars from being used to sell wild horses for slaughter. Animal advocates from across the spectrum spoke out in massive numbers and we won that vote by a landslide!
Unfortunately, the amendment was not introduced in the Senate version of the Interior Appropriations bill.

However, we still have a chance to hold onto the victory that we achieved in the House. The House and Senate will be meeting in a conference to hash out the differences between their bills and draft a final, unified version. Please contact Senators that are on the Conference Committee (below) and urge them to keep the Rahall-Whitfield amendment in the final version of the Interior Appropriations bill. Please CALL THEM TODAY and ask others to call. (Do not write or email - there is no time for that right now because they won't read it in time.) Ask for a definitive reply quickly. You do not have to live in the states the Senators on the Conference Committee represent, but people who do have more influence as constituents.
