Above
is a picture of Shea demonstrating the execution of a perfect corner
from the book,
"Competitive Riding" by Jane Holderness-Roddam, page 30.
James ("Shea") has
the background and experience necessary to produce Horse and Rider
to the very highest standard. Making the most of his opportunities,
he has had coaching from the best and most successful trainer in
the world: Harry Boldt, Herbert Rhebein and Herbert Krug to name
some.
James’ competition experience
ranges from the Seoul Olympics, World Championships and European
Championships through national and international competitions in
Lausanne, Switzerland; Schoten (Antwerp), Germany; Paris, France;
Goodwood, England; Aachen, Germany; Donaueschengen, Germany and
Hanover, Germany.
In the United States James
Walsh has the USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medals. He was able to
gain these awards in one year, among the first to accomplish this
honor. He has many wins at all levels including Grand Prix and Grand
Prix Special. James has brought many horses and riders to FEI levels
and Grand Prix competition.
His training method is to develop
the Horse and Rider as a team. Emphasis is on improving the Riders’
seat and the coordination of their aids. Thus, both the Horse and
Rider improve as athletes. This process should begin at the most
basic level, the foundation on which all further training is built.
James Walsh is available for
clinics and private instruction. He will accept a limited number
of horses for training.
