WHIA Conference Update
In an effort to help women in the horse industry who wish to attend the WHIA's second conference but who cannot be there both days, the WHIA will now be offering one day rates. "There are a lot of women who want to attend this event but due to their participation at WEG, they are finding it hard to take two days away from their schedules. We are hoping these day rates will give them an opportunity to attend and make some contacts," states Executive Director Catherine Masters.

New Opportunities for Palominos
PHBA has adopted a new horse registration system that will improve turnaround and processing times for members and Palomino owners. This new system will provide PHBA members a faster and more convenient way to register horses, at a cost savings for the association. PHBA maintains records on more than 88,000 horses and owners, more than 250,000 horse show entries and more than five hundred horse shows.

Saudi’s First-Ever Female Olympian Competes in YOG Equestrian Events
23 August 2010 - For the first time in history a female athlete from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has competed at an Olympic event. Dalma Rushdi Malhas, a member of the Saudi Youth Olympic Games Team, participated in the Equestrian competition this week. Youth Wins Shetland Pony in American Shetland Pony Congress Essay Contest
Ardmore, OK (August 19, 2010) – The annual Shetland Pony Congress Show, a competition highlighting the best small equines in the country, turned out to be a big event for one young member. Jada Wright, of Byars, Oklahoma, wrote the winning essay for the American Shetland Pony Club’s (ASPC) Youth Essay Contest, and took her own American Shetland Pony home from the show.
